Just a Darn Cool NFT Project Going to Christie's

TL;DR

  • Back in Feb, we wrote about the 'Checks' NFT project which started as an open edition at $8 a pop (the price of a Twitter check mark), and ended up generating over $50M USD in sales and now, the artist behind the project is back at it.

  • The 'Checks Elements' project incorporates earth, fire, water, and air into 152 generative art pieces that feature the Twitter check mark, with a portion of the auction sales being donated to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

  • The more sales and higher the prices, the more donated to St. Jude’s Research Hospital - and that's a good thing.

Lets finish things up today with something that is just darn cool.

Back in Feb, we wrote about the 'Checks' NFT project which started as an open edition at $8 a pop (the price of a Twitter check mark), and ended up generating over $50M USD in sales.

Now, the artist behind the project, Jack Butcher, is back at it.

This time he's teamed up with master printmaker, Jean Milant, to produce artworks that have both a physical and digital component - and they're being auctioned at Christie's later this week.

The 'Checks Elements' project incorporates earth, fire, water, and air into 152 generative art pieces that feature the Twitter check mark, with a portion of the auction sales being donated to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

While the original 'Checks' NFTs sold for $8 each, they skyrocketed up in value after it was announced that multiple NFTs could be 'burnt' (permanently destroyed) and turned into a single, rarer, NFT.

Since then, original editions have settled at a floor price of ~0.36 ETH (~$670 USD).

Based on Butcher's track record, its likely that there'll be a few surprises at the Christie's auction.

The more sales and higher the prices, the more donated to St. Jude’s Research Hospital - and that's a good thing.

As we said, no crazy news here, just something that's darn cool!
