MoMA Just Gave NFTs the Ultimate Stamp of Approval

TL;DR

  • MoMA has acquired two (two!!) digital pieces for their permanent collection - “Unsupervised – Machine Hallucinations" by Refik Anadol and “3FACE” by Ian Cheng.

  • Legitimacy leads to adoption → adoption leads to increased market values → increased market values lead to investment → investment leads to innovation.

Full Story

There is one person in everyone's life where their approval means the most.

And you have to work for it.

In the art world, it's The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Sure, they may push the boundaries - but! Their adoption of new pieces isn’t going to be built solely on popular demand.

(We say that to add a little extra weight to what we're about to say...)

MoMA has acquired two (two!!) digital pieces for their permanent collection - “Unsupervised – Machine Hallucinations" by Refik Anadol and “3FACE” by Ian Cheng.

Sure, MoMA has dabbled in NFTs, AI and tokenized art in the past, but now it's fully embracing it.

Cool, so why do we care?

Even if you’re not an art buff – this is a positive thing for degens of all sorts, because:

Legitimacy leads to adoption → adoption leads to increased market values → increased market values lead to investment → investment leads to innovation.

(It's a beautiful cycle 🥲).

Now, if anyone needs us, we'll be at MoMA’s NFT Postcard exhibit.
