Web3 games, that don't suck (coming soon)!

Righto! Let's lighten the mood and check in with the current state of Web3 gaming.

As things currently stand:

  • Web3 games kinda suck (they're basic and have a reputation for being scammy).

  • Most of the gaming community have outright rejected them.

  • There's yet to be a break-out Web3 game.

Don't worry! The mood is about to lighten.

You know that trope in teen movies, where the nerdy kid takes their glasses off and all of a sudden, everyone is fawning over them?

We're very familiar with it!

Chevy literally stopped wearing glasses in high school because of it (it's the same reason he failed his driving test, four times in a row).

Point is: Web3 gaming may be about to take its glasses off.

Square Enix (creators of Final Fantasy) announced that it is “most focused” on blockchain-powered gaming amid its new business development efforts.

And that it's developing “multiple blockchain games” based on original IP, rather than its existing franchises.

Translation: we're about to get original, Web3-powered games, from folks that actually know what they're doing.

Nice!
