3D NFTs may soon be a thing

Get this:

Snapchat has been working on some new tech that will allow anyone with an account to create 3D versions of their NFTs.

Snap's 530M active users will be able to add their 3D NFTs as filters, or feature them as floating characters in their snaps.

Here’s why why this is interesting:

Web2 will essentially go down in history as being the age of social media. No question Facebook, Twitter & Snap (to name a few) have shaped culture over the past 15ish years.

Web3 is the next iteration of the internet and these companies must find a way to stay relevant.

(Sooner, rather than later).

Because, there won’t be a single moment in time when the world realizes ‘we are in Web3.’ Instead, it'll happen through a series of small innovations, happening one after the other - and compounding.

Twitter, FB, IG and Reddit all allow users to use their NFTs as profile pics (PFPs).

Seems like, with this new feature, Snap is trying to say:

'That's cute. Hold my beer.'

We love that energy.
