AI in Web3 (Here’s Where It Actually Fits)
Over the past month or so, we've seen folks in the crypto space bending over backwards to relate blockchain to AI.
(Regardless of whether it's a good fit or not).
Why?
Because AI is the 'hot new thing,' where blockchain once was.
And some folks in the space are itching to see crypto to get its groove back (like Stella, before it).
But most attempts to pair the two have seemed like a desperate branding play, more than a real functioning relationship.
(Similar to how Chevy calls Brad Pitt "a friend," just because he saw him once at an Arby's).
So let's look at one case where AI and Web3 actually fit..
Have you ever used a block explorer like Etherscan?
Go ahead - click that link. Tell us if you understand anything beyond the domain name.
No? Nothing? Same here.
But you know who has a knack for taking complex stuff like that, and making sense of it for anyone without a computer science degree?
Everyone's new favorite friend, Chat GPT-3.
So here's where the two meet, and make sense.
You could ask Chat GPT-3:
“Are any huge institutions sending funds to Binance?” or "Has Logan Paul refunded his Crypto Zoo NFT holders yet?"
Then Chat GPT-3 could take the prompt, go to Etherscan, look at the on-chain transactions, and report back to you with a layman-friendly answer.
(And in a way, become the pseudo 'Google Search' for Web3).
Very cool!
