Ethereum Name Service just cracked 2M domains (this is a great sign!)
Alright, keeping this one short n' sweet!
And full disclosure: this news isn't all that exciting - but what it signals, is.
The number of newly created Ethereum Name Service (ENS) addresses (aka Web3 domain names) has surged, surpassing 2 million yesterday, after crossing the 1.8 million mark two weeks ago.
For context, it took ENS five years to reach 1M names created, and just three and a half months to reach 2M.
That, right there, is exponential growth!
Here's what it indicates:
History is not repeating itself.
After the crypto crash of 2018, growth didn't just slow - it was just about set back to zero. Very few projects made it through to the 2021 bull run, and for those that did - there were years of pain in between.
Seeing sustained (and even increased) growth in Web3 products like ENS, amidst the current market downturn, is a great sign of long term stability.
This calls for a bell kick!
