LimeWire is back! (as an NFT marketplace)
Two Austrian brothers just bought the defunct 2000's music sharing platform, LimeWire, with plans to relaunch it as an NFT marketplace.
"Rather than allow users to freely share songs, as the original service did, the new LimeWire seeks to help artists by letting them sell NFTs that represent songs."
If you want to get all nostalgic and try the platform out, it's set to launch in May.
Shopify, but for building blockchain products
Building an ecommerce site with Shopify is a pretty smooth experience. In three clicks, you become legally compliant - with terms, privacy and refund policies tailored to your store.
It seems simple, but that used to require a lawyer and a good chunk of patience.
The 'Avalanche Multiverse' is a platform that gives blockchain developers the same baked in legal and regulatory compliance that Shopify gives to online retail merchants.
Sounds dry, but the easier you make the building process, the more incentive (eg. not getting sued by the SEC) you give to creators.
Biden just gave government agencies a homework assignment on crypto
Remember that crypto executive order we wrote about a couple of days ago?
It happened.
Here's a really brief summary of how it unfolded:
Biden told the SEC, FTC, and CFTC and a bunch of other government banking bodies to go and do their homework on the crypto industry.
The assignment being, to come back with a regulatory framework that will lower any criminal misuse of cryptocurrencies and support Americans who are "underserved by the traditional banking system".
Hey, sounds good on paper. Let's hope they can stick the landing.
