Luxury Retail = Quantum Physics. Lettuce Explain...
TL;DR
A few hundred select Louis Vuitton customers will be granted permission to buy a ~$42k 'Treasure Trunk' NFT, which cannot trade or transferred after purchase.
The NFT will get them a physical made-to-order Louis Vuitton trunk, and grant them access to exclusive customizable products, early releases of new products, bespoke experiences.
Full Story
To us, the difference between 'retail' and 'luxury retail,' is like the difference between 'physics' and 'quantum physics.'
A whole new set of rules apply.
Take this Louis Vuitton limited NFT series for example...
A few hundred select LV customers will be granted permission to buy a ~$42k 'Treasure Trunk' NFT, each of which are 'soulbound.'
(I.e. they cannot trade or transferred after purchase).
The NFT will get them a physical made-to-order Louis Vuitton trunk, and grant them access to:
Exclusive customizable products
Early releases of new products
Bespoke experiences
Charging customers $42k for the opportunity to pay you even more money in the future? That doesn't quite make sense to us.
...but hey - that's luxury retail baaaaby!
Money ain't no thing, and exclusivity is highly valued.
