Software Developers Out Number Web3 Engineers (30M to 30K)! Coinbase Wants To Fix That...
TL;DR
The Base Bootcamp is an eight-week program run by Coinbase, designed to help experienced developers become smart contract developers.
Our favorite part? They'll be learning by doing.
Converting 20 new Web3 engineers at a time via Base Bootcamp ain't much, but it's a start!
Full Story
At some point over the next couple weeks, people will start asking each other:
"What are your Thanksgiving plans?"
For 20 select software engineers from around the world, the answer will be something along the lines of:
"Eatin' turkey and preparing for the Base Bootcamp."
The Base Bootcamp is an eight-week program run by Coinbase, designed to help experienced developers become smart contract developers.
The cohort of students that get accepted into the program will get:
A mentor for guidance
A direct line of contact to Coinbase/Base engineers
An invite to a private Discord server with other students
Our favorite part?
They'll be learning by doing.
Over the eight week course, each engineer will develop a Web3 app, and (hopefully) have a minimum viable product ready by the end of it all.
Here's why all of this is important:
Software developers out number Web3 engineers by a magnitude of a thousand!
That's 30M vs. 30k.
If Web3 is going to continue to grow and proliferate, we're gonna need more engineers!
Converting 20 at a time via Base Bootcamp ain't much, but it's a start!
