The bar has just been raised for NFT utility

Let’s play a little game of ‘Association.’

  • The new season of Stranger Things → Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill.'

  • Halloween → Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.

  • Sunsets → a sense of meaning.

  • NFTsutility.

If you're in the NFT space, it's hard to go a day without hearing how/why 'utility' is a key ingredient in any successful NFT project.

(We talk about it here all the time).

And the utility of this project we just came across? It's ahhh - it's pretty dang cool.

Superfly (the folks responsible for music festivals like Bonnaroo & OutsideLands) have teamed up with Velvet Sea Ventures and Autograph.io to launch SuperNFT.

You might be thinking:

'Cool, NFTs as tickets - again. You guys are really stuck on that use case, huh?'

Yes, we are - but that's not what we're talking about here.

...well, not entirely.

Starting with SUPERF3ST, the SuperNFT team are minting 3000 SuperPass NFTs.

Holders of the NFTs won’t just get access to the festival itself, but they will plan the event.

Each NFT will equal one vote and they’ll get to decide on things like:

  • The artists and musicians

  • The art installations to be included

  • The food at the festival

  • The merchandise designs

  • And even the timing and location of the event itself

Here's what's exciting about this (beyond all of the above):

If the founding team can pull this off - it will be a shining example of how NFT functionality can be used to shape real world events, in a whole new way.

(Maybe after this, the whole 'NFTs are just .jpgs' argument, can be put to bed? Who knows.)

Either way, the bar for what qualifies as 'utility' has just been raised.
