The iPod of crypto wallets.
We're calling our shot now: in 5 years, people will be flashing their NFTs around as if they were the latest pair of Air Jordans.
...although, you could argue that's already happening.
(JUST LET US HAVE THIS ONE, OK??)
Anyway, this device supports that eventuality...
The folks at Ledger have teamed up with Tony Fadell, designer of the original iPod, to create the Ledger Stax.
...and boy if it ain't good lookin'!
It appears pretty damn easy to use, featuring a USB-C connection to hook up to laptops and Bluetooth connectivity to connect with the Ledger Live Mobile app.
Plus, it has a screen which displays a users’ NFT of choice at all times.
And honestly, the launch couldn't have come at a better time - a lot of people are still reeling from the loss of their funds held up in FTX, and are moving away from centralized storage solutions.
Ledger already offers a couple of other cold wallets (which are basically external hard drives, specifically created to store cryptocurrencies).
And since cold wallets aren't connected to the internet all the time, it makes them way harder to hack than a 'hot wallet' (which are apps that live on your phone/web browser).
The Ledger Stax allows you to store over 500 different cryptocurrencies on it; and with the addition of the screen, it's largely appealing to those who want to store their NFTs too.
An Apple-esque product design; an easy to use interface; and a movement towards cold wallets?
Ledger might be onto a winner!
