Vintage clothing will live on through the metaverse.

Let's have a slight change of pace and talk about something kind of cool/weird happening in Web3.

(It's easy to rag on the industry when things like FTX happen, but let's not forget that innovation continues!)

A new company, MNTGE (pronounced 'mintage'), just launched, with the aim to bridge the gap between IRL vintage clothing and the metaverse.

From today, people will be able to purchase the 'MNTGE Pass' which will grant holders priority access to vintage clothing drops IRL.

The physical clothes will be photographed on all sides to become 3D NFT representations of themselves (like this), to then be worn in the metaverse.

Pretty neat!

The founders want to allow the vintage clothes - which will eventually be worn out - to live on through NFTs.

Plus, they provide new ways for people to express themselves in the metaverse.

Vintage clothing is a popular subculture full of passionate collectors - whether those people are as passionate about dressing their metaverse avatars up in vintage clothes remains to be seen.

Either way, cool concept.
