Want a Facelift (In the Metaverse)? Same! Here’s Where We Might All Get One…

TL;DR

  • Alias is working on a new platform that will allow users to overlay a digital avatar upon themselves (in real time) in video calls and recordings.

Full Story

Fellow compatriots, gather round — we have news from the mother country!

Better yet, we have news from the mother city — Melbourne, Australia.

(You know, the cool older brother of Melbourne, Canada — no? Ok, moving on).

Alias is working on a new platform that will allow users to overlay a digital avatar upon themselves (in real time) in video calls and recordings.

(Kinda like how, in the past, a select few NFT collections have released software that lets you join video calls as your NFT character).

Which — just a few weeks ago, wouldn’t have gotten us all that excited, but as of February 2nd…

We now have a dream of (one day) being able to do the following:

  1. Create our own ultra-realistic digital twin using Unreal Engine’s ‘MetaHuman’ software (see header image for an example ☝️)

  2. Upload it to a platform like Alias

  3. Use it on the Vision Pro

Because Apple’s current ‘Persona’ software just ain’t hitting the mark…

And we know, we know — before we even typed the words:

We are waaaay over simplifying a cross-device/cross-software process, and all of the red tape that is bound to come with it…

But just lettuce dream for a second would ya?
