Warner Music x OpenSea...is this a good or a bad thing? (Seriously, we want to know).

Remember way back when Snapchat first added its 'discover' section, and the whole thing was just wall to wall legacy media content?

If you can't recall what happened - all you need to know is that the resounding reaction from users was:

"Booooo, Snapchat, Boooooo! Tomato, tomato, tomato - we're throwing tomatoes at you."

We honestly hope this doesn't have the same effect, but ah, it looks like OpenSea are about to ink a similar deal with Warner Music.

The deal will give Warner Music artists improved discoverability on the NFT marketplace, and dedicated featured portions of the OpenSea site for their upcoming NFT projects.

Call us Natalie Imbruglia, because we are TORN right now.

On one hand - incentivizing some of the biggest names in the music industry to bring their fans into Web3, will no doubt be a great thing for adoption.

(Cardi B, Madonna, Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran are all signed to Warner).

...on the other hand, it gives free reach to artists that don't really need it, over those that do.

It's a real conundrum.
