Which Is Better: Immersed’s ‘Visor’ or the Vision Pro? (Who Cares! Both Benefit the Metaverse)
TL;DR
The more desirable VR headsets there are (like Vision Pro and Immersed’s ‘Visor’) → the quicker they’ll be adopted → the quicker ‘the metaverse’ will be realized.
Full Story
DC Comics’ Superman/Batman movies of the 80’s/90’s, helped to prove the market for blockbuster superhero films.
Then, in the early 2000’s, Marvel came along and said “Thanks for warming ‘em up for us, we’ll take it from here.” (👈 ‘it’ = most of the profits).
It was a ‘vampire attack’ of sorts:
“You like ‘Thing A’? We’ll serve you up ‘Thing B,’ which feels much the same, serves many of the same functions, but is slightly different.”
— Marvel, to consumers.
We just noticed something similar happening with Apple’s Vision Pro, and Immersed’s ‘Visor’ AR/VR headset…
The Visor has the same 4k resolution screens as Apple, the same multi-display capabilities, and big screen entertainment features, but is lighter and cheaper (~$950 on pre-order).
This speaks directly to those saying “Vision Pro is cool, but WAY too expensive” → cuts them from the heard → and provides them with ‘Thing B.’
(Which feels much the same as ‘Thing A,’ serves many of the same functions, but is slightly different — and in this case, cheaper).
Here’s why this is exciting us:
The more desirable/affordable VR headsets there are, the quicker they’ll be adopted →
The more 3D virtual tools/apps/experiences will be developed →
The quicker ‘the metaverse’ will be realized.
