Why the Sudden Solana Pump?
You know that sunken eyed look you get in life, when you try and juggle too many things at once?
Well, if the Helium Network were a person, it'd look like Gollum right about now .
They've been trying to create a decentralized WiFi and 5G mobile network on top of their very own blockchain.
Basically, users set up modems → broadcast wifi/5G signals from their homes → anyone in range can use them, in exchange for Helium tokens.
And if you've ever tried to set up a wi-fi modem on your own, you'll know it's no small undertaking.
From our experience, there's a 90% of you'll end up on the phone to your dad, in tears, and screaming:
"WHAT DOES WPS MEAN? WHY IS THE MODEM BLINKING AT ME? YES, I'VE TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND ON AGAIN..."
...now imagine having to repeat that process on a global scale. Not fun.
So, to reduce their collective stress levels, the Helium team is moving from their own blockchain, to the Solana blockchain.
Which means there's one less thing for them to have to manage.
And in light of this transition, Solana's token price has gotten a much needed bump (gaining over 11% overnight).
Sweet! What's next?
Most likely a partnership that brings Helium's decentralized 5G network to Solana's Saga Phone.
But that's just an educated guess.
