Cold Wallet
What is a cold wallet (also known as a ‘hard wallet’ or ‘paper wallet’)?
A cold wallet is any sort of crypto wallet that isn’t connected to the internet by default.
The most common type of cold wallet, is a hardware wallet (or ‘hard wallet’).
Which is a password protected storage device (like a flash drive or hard disk) that stores cryptocurrencies.
Hard wallets are more secure than software wallets (also known as a ‘hot wallets’), because they are not permanently connected to the internet, which makes them very hard to hack remotely.
Another type of cold wallet is a ‘paper wallet,’ which is just a QR code printed onto a piece of paper (also very hard to hack).
