Ethereum is looking BULLISH!
A few weeks back, we wrote an article titled 'Ethereum’s big moment is approaching and everything is on schedule…for now.'
That 'for now' bit was an important disclaimer...
We've been burned in the past with delays to Ethereum's proof of stake update.
Sure, the lowered energy consumption and speedier transactions will put Ethereum on par with the capabilities of Visa and Mastercard - but what's the point if those changes are forever 'coming soon'?
The good news is...and we don't want to jinx things here...everything looks to be running on schedule!
☝️ here's what that jumble of words means:
Think of testnets like test cars.
A car manufacturer will build a bunch of test cars, just to see how they handle in different situations.
They'll take them on wet roads, dry roads, dirt roads and even go as far as intentionally crashing them - just to make sure the final production vehicles do what they're supposed to, when the general public use them.
Testnets play the same role in the crypto world. If things don't work on the testnets, it's back to the drawing board.
The good news is, now that Goerli (the final boss of testnets) has passed the update with flying colors; it's looking like the update will come to the Ethereum mainnet, right on schedule (Sep 19).
And because Ethereum is largely seen as the 'operating system' for Web3, it won't just affect ETH, but the whole industry.
