The future home of your online identity

Your online data is a lot like a leased vehicle.

It feels like it's yours - because you have the keys...but you don't actually own it.

(A handful of tech giants do).

Changing this reality, by giving users ownership over their own data, is a large part of the Web3 mission.

The main idea being that Web3 users will store and manage their data, using their crypto wallet - which will become the home of their online identity (instead of a Meta/Google server farm).

The problem is, there's no 'one size fits all' wallet as of yet.

MetaMask only works with Ethereum based tokens, Phantom with Solana tokens, and Yoroi with Cardano tokens.

...so how do you manage all of your tokens / data from one place?

Unstoppable Domains might have the answer - they've just announced the upcoming release of their iPhone app, which aims to "bring Web3 to users’ fingertips."

Here's how it works:

The app will be able to connect to users' crypto wallets, and log into more than 180 decentralized applications (dApps), metaverses and games.

Letting you manage everything, in one place.

Which is great for Web3! But the really exciting part is what it can do for Web2.

If 'Sign In with Unstoppable Domains' starts being offered alongside 'Sign In with Google' on existing platforms, this will allow Web2 companies to bridge into Web3 - by facilitating easy integration of 'pay with crypto' options, alongside one-click identity verification.

Will Web2 companies allow the Unstoppable Domains app to control and store the data we create on their platforms?

No. Almost definitely not.

But the idea is that, in the long term, new Web3 companies will be created to provide that optionality and fill that demand.

(Eventually making the data hungry Web2 business model, obsolete).

Nice!
