This Apple rule change will open the floodgates for Web3 app development

This sounds boring on the surface, but it's BIG!

It looks like Apple is planning to allow the installation of iOS apps from third-party sources.

I.e. Customers will be able to use app-stores on their iPhones, that aren't run by Apple.

This means app developers will no longer need to pay Apple 30% of their earnings, in order to get their app on the iPhone.

So what will this do for Web3?

NFTs and crypto have hit some brick walls with Apple in the past.

For example, a recent app update from Coinbase was recently blocked by Apple because they wanted Coinbase to use their proprietary payments system to charge crypto transaction fees (a.k.a gas fees).

...only problem is, Apple's payment system doesn't integrate with crypto.

This change will remove a massive roadblock for Web3 developers, allowing them to build consumer friendly products that just work.

(No more requiring the app to open a browser tab to get around payment gateways).

It's a seemingly small change, that sets the stage for exciting forward movement.
