Walmart, GM and Lacoste Are Moving Into Web3

This morning, we're serving up a breath of fresh air, with a side of optimism.

(Add hopium to taste).

A bunch of new Web3 trademarks were filed over the month of February, from the likes of:

  • Walmart
Focused on NFTs, blockchain software, virtual reality healthcare, cryptocurrency trading, brokerage and financial services.

  • General Motors
For downloadable digital media files containing collectible artwork, text, audio and video authenticated as NFTs.

  • Lacoste
Detailing plans for NFTs, crypto transaction software, virtual clothing, stores for virtual goods and virtual real estate services.

And get this - despite the dumpster fire that was 2022, there were record numbers of trademark applications for NFTs, metaverse and crypto-related products last year.

And sure, nothing is guaranteed in the crypto space...

But the fact that big players - from outside of the industry - are continuing to put time, money, and resources into developing Web3 strategies?

That's a good sign.
