What is the metaverse?

The concept of ‘the metaverse,’ in a highly compressed nutshell, is a 3D version of the internet, where 3D virtual spaces take the place of websites.

At the moment, more than anything else, it’s just that: a concept. The metaverse, in the truest sense of the term, doesn’t actually exist yet.

Though the concept is slowly being theorized, built and realized.
